Here is a collection of audio recordings and resources which I hope will be a helpful addition to your resource toolkit and supportive towards your self-regulation. Imaginal resourcing can be such an amazing tool to help us water the garden of our minds. The ideas are not original to me and I have merely recorded it in my voice at the request of some of my clients. Hopefully this can be a helpful resource for existing clients or for anyone who have chanced across this page. 🙂

This is a developing space and I will add more recordings and resources over time so do check back from time to time if you like.

Grounding | Dropping Anchor

This is a recording of a grounding practice. You can use it as a daily practice or whenever you feel a bit ‘scattered’ and need to come back to yourself. The recording is open ended so you can stay for as long as you like in this space.

Mindfulness of Sound

This practice ties in quite nicely with a few rounds of ‘silent tapping’ which is something I do regularly with clients to help with calming down the nervous system. If you’re using this together with tapping, just tuning in to the sound of your tapping, then allow your arms to relax and then drop into this practice of noticing sounds. The recording is open ended so you can stay for as long as you like in this space.

Calm Place

This is a recording of the calm place guided imagery which I often do with clients in session. It is a lovely way to support an over-taxed nervous system to just chill out for a little bit.

Anchoring into (adult) Self

This is adapted from Arielle Schwartz’ practice of  anchoring into our adult self, which can be a helpful practice when your younger parts have been triggered and you are wanting to come back to your Adult Self. This is with full credit to Arielle Schwartz who kindly gave permission for her script to be adapted and recorded for clients.

Lightstream

The lightstream is a resourcing tool I learned in my EMDR training some years back. With full credit to Francine Shapiro (founder of EMDR therapy) who wrote a script for the lightstream practice which we can use in sessions and which I have slightly adapted here for client use.

Leaves on stream

This is a great tool for developing the observing mind/noticing self. Many of my clients use this when they are lying in bed and noticing a lot of thoughts running through their mind. With full credit to Russ Harris who shared this script when I was doing Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) Training with him some years back and which I have now adapted slightly.

Silent Tapping

This is a refresher video on how to do some silent tapping (clinical EFT) to help your ‘smoke alarm’ calm down just a little bit.
